Privacy Policy

Sandy Residents Directory is a small private reference for Salt Lake County and Utah public-record routes. It does not require an account and does not store the government records described on its pages. This policy explains what can pass through the reference, what hosting systems may log, and how a request can be made.

Information You Send

Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered into a search widget are sent to the third-party provider that supplies that result experience. Sandy Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search terms in its own record store. A message sent to the contact address contains the details included by the sender and is used to answer the request.

Routine Hosting Logs

Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, viewed page, referring page, and time stamp. Aggregate use helps identify broken links, slow pages, and popular reference material. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement where those services are present.

How That Data Is Used

Search-submission data is handled by the provider behind the search feature. Contact details are used to reply or investigate a reported page issue. Server-log data is used for security, technical maintenance, and broad usage counts. Personal information is not used to create a government roll or to decide a record’s classification.

Links to Custodian Portals

Pages link to Sandy City, Salt Lake County, Utah Courts, Utah vital records, Utah elections, libraries, archives, USPS, and other external custodians. Each destination has its own privacy notice, terms, retention practices, and submission rules. Review the destination before sending information.

Who May Receive Information

Hosting and technical providers may process ordinary server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. Information can also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it. Government records held by Sandy City, Salt Lake County, or Utah agencies are controlled by those custodians, not by this reference.

Security Measures

Reasonable technical and administrative steps are used for the small amount of data handled through hosting and contact channels. No online transmission or storage system is guaranteed secure. Do not send Social Security numbers, ID images, signatures, full birth dates, protected addresses, or other sensitive material in a message.

People Under 18

The reference is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child supplied personal information may use the Contact page to report it so the information can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.

Your Choices Under Utah Law

The Utah Consumer Privacy Act took effect December 31, 2023. The Utah Attorney General describes rights to confirm or access data supplied to a covered business, delete it, obtain a copy, and opt out of sale or targeted advertising, with a normal 45-day business response period. Because this reference keeps little data, a request usually concerns a contact message or hosting log. Use the Contact page.

The Utah Consumer Privacy Act does not erase a government record or change a court, vital, voter, or county classification. A removal request for a record held by Sandy City, Salt Lake County, or a Utah agency must go to that custodian.

Policy Updates

Changes will be posted on this page with a revised policy text. The current version governs information handled after the update, subject to applicable law. Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact route.
